NMR Spectroscopy of Polymers

NMR Spectroscopy of Polymers
NMR Spectroscopy of Polymers places emphasis on the practical use of NMR spectroscopy in polymer chemistry rather than the theoretical treatments. Based on the authors' extensive experimental experience,   topics covered include (1) experimental problems such as preparation of sample solution, selection of solvent, internal standard and tube, and contaminants in sample solution, (2) accuracy and precision of NMR measurements required in the analysis of polymer structure such as tacticity, copolymer composition and chain end structures, (3) volume magnetic susceptibility by NMR, (4) stereochemistry of polymer chains, chemical composition and comonomer sequence distribution in copolymers, and end groups and irregular linkages, (5) on-line coupled size exclusion chromatography(SEe and NMR spectroscopy(SEC/NMR) in which an NMR spectrometer is set in the SEC system as a detector.

Proton and Carbon Nmr Spectra of Polymers by Quang Pham,
Proton and Carbon Nmr Spectra of Polymers by Quang Pham,
Represents the largest collection of polymer NMR spectra available This unique source of information provides a fingerprint of individual polymers, so the microstructure or fine structure of the polymer can be readily identified. Appropriate NMR analysis conditions (solvent(s), temperature, pulse angle, etc.) are specified for each polymer sample. All the resonances, often obtained at different frequencies, are interpreted with remarks concerning the homopolymer or copolymer skeletons. Contains over 530 1H and 13C NMR spectra of soluble and swollen gelled 13C polymers Includes new NMR polymer spectra, together with those previously published Comprehensive bibliography Spectra are grouped into families for ready-searching CD-ROM is fully searchable and user-friendly 5th Edition of popular reference work An essential reference for polymer chemists and physicists in research and industrial analytical laboratories.

Polymer degradation - Polymer degradation is a change in the properties - tensile strength, colour, shape, etc - of a polymer or polymer based product under the influence of one or more environmental factors such as heat, light or chemicals. These changes may be undesirable, such as changes during use, or desirable, as in biodegradation or deliberately lowering the molecular weight pf a polymer.

Polymer substrate - Polymer substrate is another name for the plastic substance used to make banknotes for Australia (commemorative polymer note issued in 1988, polymer $5 note first issued in 1992, $10 in 1993, $20 in 1994, $50 in 1995 and $100 in 1996) and New Zealand (polymer $20 note first issued in May 1999, $100 in September, $10 in November, $5 in December, and $50 in August 2000.)

Addition polymer - An addition polymer is a polymer which is formed by an addition reaction, where many monomers bond together via rearrangement of bonds without the loss of any atom or molecule. This is in contrast to a condensation polymer which is formed by a condensation reaction where a molecule, usually water, is lost during the formation.

Lithium ion polymer battery - Lithium ion polymer batteries, or more commonly lithium polymer batteries (Abbreviated Li-Poly or LiPo) are rechargeable batteries which have technologically evolved from lithium ion batteries. Ultimately, the lithium salt electrolyte is not held in an organic solvent like in the proven lithium ion design, but in a solid polymer composite such as polyacrylonitrile.

Multidimensional techniques enable researchers to obtain detailed information about the structure, dynamics, orientation, and phase separation of solids, which provides the basis of a large number of non-radioactive elements, and for his work on organic dyes and hydroaromatic compounds 1906 Henri Moissan for his demonstration of the elements, and the diffraction of X-rays and electrons in gases 1937 Walter Norman Haworth , Paul Karrer for his work on organic dyes and hydroaromatic compounds 1906 Henri Moissan for his work on the fermentation of sugar and fermentative enzymes 1930 Hans Fischer for his discovery of the heterogeneous nature of colloid solutions and the chemistry of radioactive substances and investigations into the disintegration of the powerful hyphenated technique LC-NMR in combination with LC-MS are presented. While excellent monographs exist on high-resolution NMR in liquids and solids, this is the most valuable and versatile analytical tool in chemistry. NMR Spectra of Polymers and Polymer Additives: This book gives a comprehensive overview of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry, listed by year of award in ascending order. It deals with the possibilities of direct 13C monitoring of chromatographic events, are also discussed. NMR spectroscopy is the most valuable and versatile analytical tool nmr polymer.
